Web Development Engineer

Do you love to make great software? PageDNA is seeking a new member of our web development team to help build and maintain PageDNA's ever-growing code and customer base. This is a key developer position in an established, profitable, privately held web-based company.

Your job will be to design and build our core software for delivering superior web-based print solutions, solving challenging customer-driven requirements, and communicating with other members of the development team.

Required attributes:

  • 5+ years work experience (7+ years without CS/EE degree)
  • Demonstrated experience working on complex web applications
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Object-oriented programming (Python, Java, Ruby, or similar)
  • Know Python or be willing to learn
  • GNU/Linux or other Unix (Red Hat preferred)

Desired attributes:

  • Experience working on e-commerce web sites
  • Experience with data architecture and data modeling
  • System administration skills
  • Knowledge of PDF and EPS file formats and concepts

Software Support and Training Specialist

As an expert in our Online Ordering product, you will serve as the customer advocate, ensuring that they experience the prompt and thorough support that they have come to expect from PageDNA. This position involves a mix of customer education (via phone and WebEx training sessions) and technical writing, working on our library of text and video tutorials that reinforce concepts covered in training.

Success in this position requires outstanding interpersonal communication skills, an interest in education (learning how others learn), as well as the ability to multi-task and self-manage projects through to completion.

Though a graphic arts background or knowledge of applications like Illustrator would help with this position, prior knowledge of these applications is not required for this opening. We seek a "people person" who loves to take the complex and make it managable and understandable - both one-on-one and in our training materials.

Desired Candidate Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree strongly preferred
  • Prior account management / customer service experience in a technical or software environment strongly preferred.
  • Medium to strong understanding of HTML and other markup languages.
  • Technical writing background a major plus
  • Digital Graphics Production, Pre-Press, and/or Marketing experience a plus
  • Inside or outside Sales experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills - both verbal, written and in person
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter
  • Positive, pro-active attitude and work style a must
  • Ability to multi-task, work cross functionally with several departments
